Athens is extremely rundown and dirty. The highlight of my visit was the Acropolis, which is the only place worth visiting in Athens, so a one day stay is all you need. The Parthenon is amazing, but was under restoration and probably always will be.

My experience in Marseille was less than great. Much less. I can’t say it’s an objective view of the city, or even a fair one. All I know is that the 12 hours I spent there were stressful. I didn’t feel safe, and I wasn’t impressed with the city’s offerings.
